Skills

ComputerI have am highly experienced with both Microsoft Office and Google Drive. I am familiar and can easily navigate the web with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox for various research purposes for articles. I have also used the sound-editing software Audacity to record ten podcasts - seven as a host for the New England Sports Podcasting Network - since 2009.

PaginationI learned to use InDesign junior year as sports editor for Nashua High School South's Panther Prints student newspaper.

Communication: As sports editor for the Panther Prints and managing editor for my Journalism class newspaper, I have learned the fundamental communication and teamwork skills necessary to lead and organize a successful sports section. My email contact skills are exceptional, as I have used the medium to contact numerous teachers, coaches and even Saint Anselm professors to help contribute quotes and other relevant information to my articles.

Journalism: According to several of my peers, I have an exceptional knowledge of the AP Style. I have above average interviewing skills both digitally and in person. I am also experienced with several styles of writing, including reviews, news and opinion pieces and new journalism.

Awards and Honors

During first semester of my freshman year, second semester of my junior year and first semester of my senior year, I received an "A" in every one of my classes to achieve the distinction of high honors and earn a reward highlighting this accomplishment from my high school.

Best Actor, Summer Camp Movie

July 2004

I went to a camp at the Nature of Things school in Nashua, N.H., the summer before fourth grade and while attending the program, I participated in a camp-wide movie. Following the completion of filming and the "premiere" for the camp's younger children, the counselors handed out awards to each of the movie's actors. I received "Best Actor," the most distinguished award of anyone. It was an honor and I can proudly say that I have since taken my on-camera presentation and transferred my outgoing personality and quirkiness into my writing.

My writing career began in high school my sophomore as a sports writer for the school's newspaper, the "Panthers Prints." I was promoted to sports editor my junior year where I learned the communication and teamwork schools needed to organize and edit a sports section. In my senior year journalism class, I took my skills to the next level by taking on the task of managing editor - while writing sports on the side - for a group newspaper. I received an "A" in each of the English levels 1, 2, and 3 and I am currently on pace to receive this outstanding mark yet again in my journalism class.
